It’s about to be a fun-filled, busy weekend for the Outlaw Midgets presented by Canadian Tire Innisfil as they tackle a double-header at Sauble Speedway on Canada Day weekend, racing July 1 and July 2.
Mike Bradley will enter this weekend ranked fifth in the standings, following three top-nine finishes including a third in the most recent event at Sunset Speedway. As a whole, the success is no surprise with having scored 14 top-five’s in the past 18 races. There’s no reason he cannot carry the success into this weekend, after placing first and second in last year’s races at the beach.
Larry Lawson, meanwhile, scored a pair of runner-up’s to start 2022, but failed to finish at Sunset due to blowing the motor. Notably, though, he still has just five finishes worse than fourth in the last eight series events. He enters this weekend as the points leader, seven markers ahead of Rob McCall. He hopes to find the same success that led him to a victory and fourth at the beach last year.
Rob Harrison may be a dark horse to watch, as it seems he gets faster with each bit of experience behind the wheel. It shined through with a second-consecutive sixth at Sunset, and a pair of fifths at the beach last year.
Jamie Kay started off the year really well with a sixth and fourth, but was one of the drivers caught up in the first lap wreck at Sunset Speedway. He hopes to turn his luck around this weekend, following a ninth and eighth at the beach in 2021.
Other drivers caught up in the same wreck hopeful of turning things around include Kevin Spiez and Zach Millman will be one of the other competitors looking to turn his luck around this weekend. Spiez had started off his year initially with a eighth and seventh.
Rob McCall has been fast to start the 2022 campaign, scoring his second consecutive third-place finish at Sunset Speedway. That gives him three top-seven’s to start the year, and we know he can get the job done and reach victory lane.
Dan Bound has been impressive since joining the tour in 2022, scoring his third straight top-five at Sunset Speedway with a runner-up.
Jessica James arguably enters this weekend with the most momentum, having scored five victories in the last seven races, including the past four straight.
Mikey Homewood’s return to the tour has been solid, as he scored a season-best seventh at Sunset Speedway for his third consecutive top-10. Notably, he placed sixth in last year’s feature at Sauble.
Kayla Semple has been getting faster since her debut in the series, gaining experience on a weekly basis. She will hope to build upon her ninth at Sunset Speedway.
Dan Kviring hopes to shake the early bad luck he has experienced after failing to finish the first three events of the 2022 campaign.
Dave Bradley proved he still has the same speed which led him to victory lane in 2021, as evident by scoring a fifth in his first start of 2022 at Sunset Speedway.
Be sure to catch these stars on-track at Sauble Speedway.
