Canadian Teams Prepared to Defend Home Turf from American Invaders (VT)

With the American-Canadian Tour returning to the Province of Quebec for the first time in two years following the COVID-19 pandemic, the Canadians that have kept the racing flame alive North of the Border are ready to take on all challengers. Along with the four full time Quebec teams that are already taking on the full American-Canadian Tour schedule in 2022, weekly racers from Autodrome Chaudiere and across Quebec will have their chance to grab the brass ring and add their names to the record books.

The brightest color to watch for on Saturday, June 25th in Vallee-Jonction is the iconic orange mount of former American-Canadian Tour champion Patrick Laperle. Le Grande Laperle is once again in the points with a podium finish at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in April and rebounding from a flat right front tire to a 12-place finish at the 47th Spring Green at White Mountain Motorsports Park just two weeks ago. Currently fifth in the standings, the $5,000 USD win could be the boost that Laperle needs to nab a second American-Canadian Tour championship, fourteen years after his first.

Another team to keep your eyes on is Blainville’s Jonathan Bouvrette. Following a wreck in practice at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, a heat race crash at Thunder Road and a destroyed rear end in practice at White Mountain, the 41QC team is desperate just to start a feature event. Bouvrette will have to tap into his past successes at Chaudiere to turn around his brutal, hard luck return season to the Tour.

Alongside the former Serie ACT champions, Rookie of the Year candidate Alexendre Tardif is ready to take over the Rookie standings with his past successes at the Vallee-Jonction third-mile. Autodrome Chaudiere will also be represented by Michael Lavoie, the former Serie ACT winner and recent victor in Chaudiere’s Langis Caron 150 in May and local fan favorite Jeff Cote.

The Claude Leclerc 150 celebrates the Iron Man of American-Canadian Tour competition who has been a fixture in Northeast racing since the Northern NASCAR circuit of the 1970s to today. Leclerc has nearly 600 ACT Sanctioned starts to his credit and a decades-long reputation as a gentleman towards his competition whether on the flat corners of Martinsville, high banks of Nashville or his local haunts at Catamount Stadium, Sanair, Thunder Road and Oxford Plains.

The $5,000 USD-to-win Claude Leclerc 150 presented by J.A. Larue will feature the best American and Canadian competitors at Autodrome Chaudiere in Vallee-Jonction, Quebec on Saturday, June 25th. For $40 CAD, fans can take in the return of the American-Canadian Tour for the first time in Quebec since 2019 along with the NASCAR Trucks, Vintage and Sport Compacts that call the Autodrome home weekly. The Claude Leclerc 150 will also be broadcast live, around the world on Racing America to monthly and yearly subscribers.
