16TH RUNNING OF CANADIAN SPRINT CAR NATIONALS SET TO GO JULY 1ST AT OHSWEKEN (ON)

The 25th season of Friday Night Excitement at Ohsweken Speedway continues on Friday, July 1 when Burger Barn presents the 16th Running of the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals. This special event features a $10,000-to-win, $1,000-to-start race for the Pinty’s Knights of Thunder 360 Sprint Car Series, plus $2,000-to-win races for 358 Modifieds and the Action Sprint Tour Fueled by Pinty’s.

Pinty’s Knights of Thunder 360 Sprint Car Series
This Friday’s 16th edition of the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals will be unique for several reasons. Originally scheduled for 2020, it will be the first CSCN not contested in September, and the first under Knights of Thunder series sanction. The Knights of Thunder season will open the previous night at Humberstone Speedway, creating a rare Thursday-Friday double.

Entries have already been received from Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, and New York, and competitors are asked to file their entries online if they have not already done so. Please visit the CSCN Competitor Info page for more information.

Advance reserved seat tickets are available, and tickets will also be available at the front gate on race day. Please visit www.ohswekenspeedway.ca for more information.

Action Sprint Tour Fueled by Pinty’s
The Action Sprint Tour Crate Sprint Cars will also compete Thursday night at Humberstone before heading to Ohsweken on Friday. The AST season began on June 11 at Merrittville Speedway where 2021 champion Jacob Dykstra took the win. Dykstra leads the AST standings as a result, followed by Darren Dryden, Allan Downey, Austin Roes, and Brett Stratford; Dryden and Stratford also hold top five spots in Ohsweken’s Strickland’s Crate Sprint Car division standings.

358 Modifieds
Mat Williamson was the winner in the most recent 358 Modified race held at Ohsweken on June 10, when the division returned for the first time since 2016. Williamson will try for his fourth career 358 win on Friday night, but he will face stout competition; Gary Lindberg was leading the A-Main on June 10 when a mechanical problem derailed his his race, while Tyler Willard and 2021 Merrittville champ Mike Bowman also had strong runs. Bowman took a runner-up finish at Ohsweken in his new Crate Sprint Car last Friday.
